Charmaine was the only girl in school that carried a hip flask. Some boys would
try that and get caught, but no one would break decorum to demand she lift her
dress to reveal the flask, or had the gall to accuse her of being inebriated no
matter what odd things she said or how loud she sung. Charmaine was quite popular.
I love this photo because it looks like the senior portrait of my friend Richard's
mother Fay, who was one of my mom's classmates... I have that high school annual.
