Unused R.A.T. statements from Chrome:

* TTY is to avoid the long ANSI welcome screens on low-speed BBS's
* RIP - Horrendously slow Grafix interface used to make BBS menus unreadable,
  and online games unplayable.  (See:  "Missing FUBAR.ICN")
* Avoid BitCom religiously, as you would the Windoze terminal program
* Don't milk a gift-cow too much ... and don't tell too many people about it
  either.  (Karl - you'll know what I mean)
* Listen to the experts, find out what's impossible, and why, then do it.
* Buy a program only when you've decided that you're going to continue using
  it, becuase then you'll need to dox.
* Learn some tricks to impress the illiterates.  Then keep your eyes open
  for a REAL hacker to learn from.
* Once you've got the 'local' BBS's down pat, get an internet mailbox
* Always ZIP. (or ARJ or ZOO or LHA or ARC or LZH or PAK or TAR or SFX or
  LIB or SHK or DDD or SEA or SDA or whatever)
* RBBS - Just say no!
* learn (& use) a dead programming language just to piss people off.

* College level classes teach flowcharting as an integral part of program
   design.  Any real corp, you'd be shot for wasting that much time.
* Our educational system was still pushing Penmanship last I looked.
   What matters now is typing speed.
* The 'Fast Talk' skill.
* Dealing with Beaurocrats.  It's even worse inside the educational system
   than the Federal Gov't half the time.
* C.Y.A.  Always get a teacher's or administrator's word in writing.
   In the real world, it's been my experience that you're LESS likely
   to need it in writing. Get it anyway.
* MicroSlug/MickeySoft/MicroSloth/M$.   All of these apply for whichever
  reason.
* Never, NEVER screw with IBM.  MS seems to be figuring this out.
